Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Air Heaters

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Air Heaters

Common applications of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Air Heaters are utility boilers, industrial boilers, tail-end SCR power plant systems, and many more.

Stelter & Brinck’s SCR Heaters can be used for the following two purposes:

  1. A Start-Up Heater: prevent low temperature corrosion during boiler start-up.
  2. A Post-Heater (also known as Reheater, Flue Gas Heater, SCR Duct Burner): used in conjunction with systems where nitrous oxide compounds are present, but the flue gas temperature is below the range required for the SCR catalyst reaction. S&B’s SCR Post-Heater increases the temperature of the flue gas before entering the SCR catalyst and thereby enabling the catalyst to convert the NOx to meet emission regulations.

SCR’s can use either the oxygen present in the flue gas or a separate combustion air source if there is not enough oxygen present in the stream. Each unit is designed and built to provide consistent and reliable performance in tough conditions. Stelter & Brinck’s SCR Air Heaters are fully packaged, pre-piped and prewired units tested fired and tuned before shipment in S&B’s factory.
